After ten successful years, Marine Metre² required an upgrade to keep up with evolving technology. As part of this upgrade, we partnered with BioCollect, a highly regarded Australasian biodiversity database, so data from Marine Metre² surveys can contribute to marine scientist’s research both in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. This upgrade also means you’ll now be able to create interactive 3D models of your survey sites.
To continue contributing to the Marine Metre² project, you’ll need to re-register here.
Your past surveys are being migrated across to the new system so you can compare your new surveys and continue to track changes at your local seashore over time.
