Gently lift a rock on the beach and you may be lucky enough to spot a shore crab.  But what do you actually know about them?  From a tiny egg, they go through many changes before getting to the stage where they can be found sheltering under a rock.  These notes describe the life cycle, physiology, habits and diet of the shore crab, and suggest activities to help study and learn more about these animals.
