Te Matau a Māui invites Teachers to visit the waka hourua and learn about our local marine environment. The workshop will highlight different ways to observe and record environmental indicators and their relevance to ocean health.

DATE – Tuesday April 1, 3:15 to 5:30 pm
LOCATION – Te Matau a Māui Waka, West Quay, Ahuriri Wharf, Napier Marina

Please bring: Outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and footwear for short walk and estuary exploration.

During the workshop you will:
– Observe and record environmental indicators using your senses and scientific tools.
– Record diversity and abundance of marine species using a range of sampling methods.
